Mr. Muffin carried his name after our kennel name and in memory of our first bitch “Muffin” (see also the history page).
He was bred by Bärbel Bruweleit (kennel Downtown) out of Ch Downtown Nessie by our Shocker (Ch Mafioso Anstamm’s Shocker). This means he is a full brother to the two successful bitches Downtown Winnipeg (Own. Bärbel Bruweleit, BOB Scottie Special 2003) and Downtown Whitney Houston (Own. Mona Riedl, Bundes Winner 2004).
Muffin was a compact, yet very elegant boy. Like his father, he was already very well developed at his young age. Last but not least he had a wonderful friendly character and a lot of showmanship.
In 2004, he was shown twice in puppy class and was always rated “very promising” and received excellent critiques by the judges. And at the Terrier Specialty in Saerbeck he even became BIS - Puppy!.
In 2005, Mr. Muffin enjoyed an incomparable show career in Junior class: he was shown 26 times, winning his class 21 times. As a result, he won 11 Junior Champion titles, i.e. all Junior titles offered in 2005 in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Luxembourg. And on top, he also made his way in the main ring winning two BIS-Junior at Terrier shows as well as a BIS-2 and a BIS-3 Junior at Intern. All-breed shows. He also won a ResBIS at an all-Terrier breed show.
All these wins made him clearly the most successful junior dog in the breed in Germany in recent years.
His start in the adult classes in 2006 was very successful, too: in only 4 months he won four CACIB tickets and three ResCACIB (one to be upgraded to a full) at int. all-breed shows. At terrier shows in Germany, he won 9 CAC tickets and was 5x BOB and 5x BOS. He was placed 5 times in the Ring of Honor with one BIS and 2x Best Short-legged Terrier.
In Sept. 2006, he received his first adult champion titles - German Champion (VDH) and German Champion (KfT) - both on the same day, at the almost minimum age of 28 months. In March 2007, he completed his International Champion title with 8 CACIBs in 4 countries, just under 3 years of age
Highlight of his career was his winning Best in Show at the all-terrier-breed show in Dernbach/ Thuringia with 149 terriers entered! With this success, he continued the BIS-winning tradition after his grand sire Bailey and his sire Shocker in the third generation.
As a Veteran, he continued his successful carreer, winning both German Veteran titles in the shortest possible time. But he also demonstrated that he can be very competitive against the younger competition by winning Best of Breed from Veterans Class multiple times.
